Enemy Mine

Enemy Mine Cover

You can argue that track and album collaborations are so common that they’re hard to get excited about while I, on the other hand, will completely ignore you and proceed to wet myself anytime two or more established musicians decide to team up. On my current list of infatuations is Swan Lake’s Enemy Mine, due March 24 on Jagjaguwar. 2006′s Beast Moans had me tee-heeing to myself everytime I heard Dan Bejar sing with that voice of his behind Spencer Krug’s wail. I imagine them as boyfriends, okay… Now they’re back, with Carey (of course!), to put me back into my school-girl state. I love that three guys so distinct in musical style and voice can come together and create such grand solidarity. If only I could booty pop to this…

Swan Lake is Carey Mercer of Frog Eyes, Daniel Bejar (aka my boyfriend) of Destroyer, Hello, Blue Roses and The New Pornographers, and Spencer Krug of Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, Fifths of Seven and Frog Eyes.
