Benjamin Francis Leftwich – Rebellion

Fresh from my inbox after a pretty nerve-wracking day at the office–being a social media coordinator slash public relations assistant slash graphic design assistant is hard y’all!!–is this soothing little gem of a cover by the previously featured Mr. Benjamin Francis Leftwich. Um, did it really take five years for someone to come up with a decent (more than decent, really) cover of this pretty-much classic tune? Arcade Fire’s Funeral basically was the soundtrack to my freshman year shenanigans. This is what would be playing in the background if they were replayed, pensieve style, in slow motion.

The only thing that’s really missing is someone shrieking (or crooning?) “Lies! Lies!” but I’m sure I can handle that myself.

Benjamin’s EP A Million Miles Out is out now and apparently he’s doing a flurry of live recordings while supporting goddess Ellie Goulding. Let’s pray for a duet.
