Wild Tigers I Have Known

I was able to watch Cam Archer’s Wild Tigers I Have Known again. I forgot how beautiful it was.

WT 3

When the movie came out in 2006, Cam (or whoever was in charge of the movie’s official myspace) offered the large format posters they used for Sundance to the first 25 who replied. I recieved one, of course, mainly because of my obsession with Gus van Sant which led me to become obsessed with this movie before even seeing it. It’s happily sitting unframed beside my desk. I should do something about that soon…

night and day, I thank the good God for having so arrengad our lives that our dear Armand will never know that his mother, who adores him, belongs to the race that is cursed with the brand of slavery (page 4, paragraph 4). This is the most ironic quote in the whole story, because he has just sent his wife, Desiree, away for having a black baby because he thinks shes not white. Truth be told, he’s the one that’s black.
